This is a drawing I've done of a miner's lamp from the National Coal Mining Museum for England. I used gel-pens to create it. I love the 'scribbly' effects of gel-pens, and the way white gel-pen can be used over the top of even the darkest colours. At the NCM, there is a whole wall of lamps, illuminated from behind. It's very sculptural. There are many wonderful things to look at, and draw, and photograph....not just the pit-ponies! I'll keep returning to the mine, and continue being inspired by the place, and the objects in their collection.
