Last week, on the 19th, it was full moon. I leaned out my bedroom window and took these photos with my fone. Despite it not being very good quality, I managed to catch the silhouette of the trees; and the edges of the bank of clouds that moved over from the south.
There were 2 cloud banks, looking like ice caps, floating in the sky, with the moon caught between them.

hexham abbey
Hexham Abbey has some mighty weird medieval carvings inside the building. The one above is part of a series of about 8, which reminded me of Aztec sculptures. This one has 3 faces; 4 if you count the one like an animal at the bottom. My photos were taken using my phone; hence the strange quality. I tried with and without flash. The old problem; too dark without flash; too bleached out with flash. But it does give some idea of the strangeness of the carvings.
A more conventional head/portrait.
And a rubbish photo of a sarcophagus. But the folds of her dress are identifiable.

windows & doors; views from the inside
Eyemouth Seaman's Mission; the bedroom I stayed in a couple of weeks ago, when Bea and I went to visit Paula. The weather was warm enough to leave the windows open. I awoke each morning to the sounds of the fishing boats; the herring gulls. The sounds of the working harbour.
Window looking out to Saltaire, from the Mill. Another hot, and sunny day.
Same window; Saltaire. The sky; the allotments; the railway line.
Saltaire. The wear of the doorpaint; the wonky lock; the tiles.

cake....& eat it too
For my mum's funeral tea, I asked my friend Pauline to make a cake in commemoration, and celebration.
I think Pauline's classy white icing, and silver writing looked good. It went down a treat! Mum would've enjoyed it; she had a real sweet tooth!

Mum's garden
On the day mum's house was emptied, I stood in her garden, and took this photo of her day lillies; the shadows on the parched grass. Some day lillies have come with me, and been re-planted in my garden. Lots of watering to get them established.
